Gay police officer loses claim

An employment tribunal has rejected a claim for sex discrimination brought by a gay police officer against his police force. The officer was suspended after an incident at a police social event. He was later cleared of any wrongdoing, but he claimed that this affected his prospects for promotion. However, the tribunal rejected claims he had been treated differently than a heterosexual officer.
