Regional market premium income rises by 5.5%

Life premium income rose by 6.8% in real terms to €559bn, while non-life premium income grew by 3.7% to €368bn

Regional market premium income rises by 5.5%

Total premium income in the European insurance market reached €927bn (US$1,117bn) in 2004, an inflation-adjusted increase of 5.5% according to the European insurers’ association, the Comite Europeen des Assurances (CEA). The figures were compiled from the returns of the 32 member associations of the CEA. The 25 member countries of the European Union accounted for €875bn ($1,054 billion), or 94.4% of this total.
