Groupama eyes potential acquisitions outside France before listing

French insurer Groupama is reported to be bidding for the Turkish insurer Basak Sigorta, which is being privatised. One of
its rival bidders is Axa Oyak, the local offshoot of Axa, which is a 50/50 joint venture between the French insurer and the
Turkish army’s pension fund.
