Analysts keep stable outlook on sector but are far from positive

The reinsurance market survived the 2005 hurricane losses largely in tact but some are sceptical about the next few years

The Reinsurance Rendez-vous held every year in Monte Carlo has a habit of coinciding with major catastrophic events. The conference was brought to a standstill in 2001 when the World Trade Center collapsed and last year Hurricane Katrina occurred days before the event.
