Guatemala: gunmen held up a truck carrying US$22mn from the Bank of Guatemala that was en route to the airport for shipment to the US Federal Reserve when the thieves attacked, according to the Guatemalan Interior Ministry. Officials were still trying to determine how much was taken. No arrests had been made and there were no injuries. Authorities were investigating whether the robbery was an inside job. The money was sent by 10 different banks and was to be delivered to the Federal Reserve in the USA.
