Market records further double-digit growth in 2006

Competition between insurers is said by the FFSA to be “particularly lively”, especially in the motor and corporate markets

The French insurance market grew by 12.8% last year for total primary premiums to reach €198.4bn ($257.9bn). These preliminary figures from the French insurers’ federation FFSA showed faster growth than in 2005, when the market expanded by 11%, and reflected the strong growth in life and capitalisation (savings) business.
