Economy growth produces mixed fortunes for insurers

Argentina’s insurers expect premiums to return to peak levels in 2007 • Colombian premiums up 18% but earnings plummet

With a couple of exceptions, 2006 was a good year for Latin American economies, combining high growth with low inflation. But this has not necessarily been reflected in the insurance sector results.
