ACR adopts catastrophe platform

Singapore based reinsurer, Asia Capital Reinsurance (ACR) will use a catastrophe modelling platform developed specifically by the US firm Risk Management Solutions (RMS). ACR was established in 2006 to help meet the growing demand for reinsurance capacity in Asia. Jim Attwood, ACR’s chief risk officer, said the reinsurer will use RMS’ suite of Asia-specific peril models to improve its understanding of catastrophe risk as it builds its regional business, which focuses on large risks in specialist lines, including aviation, marine, energy, property, engineering and casualty.
