Prohibition for Michael Harding who “paid no heed” to Pension Review regulatory and compliance standards
Michael Harding, former senior partner at the Michael Harding Partnership (MHP), financial advisers, has been prohibited from
acting as an approved person for deliberately misleading both colleagues and the FSA over the firm’s Pensions Review. During
March 1996 to March 2003, he sent in 32 Pensions Review returns on behalf of his firm. The FSA picked up anomalies and visited
MHP on 2 September 2003. Mr Harding told FSA Pensions Department staff that he had not sent letters to investors in accordance
with Pensions Review obligations, that the returns featured false statistics and he had not even commenced the Pensions Review.
