Significant Contracts for Difference positions face disclosure

The potential for Contracts for Difference (CfDs) to enable holders to access voting rights in equity of a company or influence its corporate governance without disclosure has prompted the FSA to propose two approaches aimed at achieving greater transparency of significant ‘economic interests’ in shares held through such derivatives. The proposals relate only to UK shares admitted to trading on a regulated or prescribed market.
