The Review speaks to six leading industry figures from around the world about rates, globalisation and consolidation

The Review gathered six top reinsurance professionals from divergent markets in May to discuss the sustainability of the turning reinsurance market and the fortunes of the industry. Present were Reinhard Elers, managing director of Hannover Re Advanced Solutions (Dublin); John Engeström, chief executive officer of Ace Tempest Re (Bermuda); Robin H Etheridge, leading class underwriter at the Harvey Bowring Division of Amlin ( Lloyd’s); Takashi Oka, director and general manager of Tokio Marine (UK) (London); Klaus Roeder, general manager, facultative marine, for General Cologne Re (Cologne); and Hoyt Wood, global chief underwriter of ERC (Kansas City).
