Amlin to merge three Lloyd's syndicates

LONDON - Insurer Amlin has said its Lloyd's managing agency, has decided to merge its syndicates 902 and 1141 into syndicate 2001. Amlin became managing agency of the two syndicates following the merger of Amlin Underwriting Limited and Angerstein Underwriting in March. The AUL board said it believed the merger would bring significant benefits to its capital providers. It added there were also economies of scale in the merger of the syndicates, and the agent planned to rationalise in certain areas. Capital providers are to be asked to vote on the proposals at the end of the month.
