"Satisfactory" rate of renewals at Strike Club

PARIS - Marine trade disruption mutual The Strike Club has reported a "satisfactory" rate of renewals for the 2001/02 policy year. Claims, however are continuing to increase, and the company�s directors have declared itessential to maintain strong free reserves in all classes. Results from last year show gross claims from strikes and industrial relations disputes generally higher, although net claims were lower due to reinsurance recoveries. In all 158 ports in 37 countries featured in the list of claimswith Korea and Finland both major trouble spots.
