This chapter describes arrangements at Lloyd’s for dealing with disputes between (a) policyholders and the syndicates insuring them, (b) members and their underwriting agents, (c) members and Lloyd’s, and (d) underwriting agents and Lloyd’s. It does not deal with arbitration clauses, jurisdiction clauses or service of suit clauses customarily included in many insurance contracts written at Lloyd’s or with court proceedings or ad hoc arbitrations.
