14.1 Introduction
14.1.1 This chapter concerns the enforcement of the ship mortgagee's security by way of the arrest and judicial sale in England and Wales1 of the mortgaged ship, usually through a court-directed tender process. Enforcement of mortgage security by the exercise of self-help remedies, without the court's involvement, is discussed in Chapter 11.
