The evolutionary synthesis in the development of maritime cabotage law and public international law

Maritime cabotage law and public international law share some commonalities in their development and how they influence the commercial conduct of sovereign nations. In this chapter we will assess how maritime cabotage law and public international law have developed concurrently. We will also identify the important junctions and elucidate the salient commonalities of both areas of the law. To do this, we will assess the theoretical paradigm of the evolution of the law of maritime cabotage with public international law serving as the benchmark.
