CHAPTER 6
Changes to the work
A Introduction
6.1 It is essential that the Company has the right to make changes to the work required under a typical lump sum contract for an offshore project. There may be numerous changes of expectations and circumstances from the date of project approval to the performance of the work, such as changes to expected productivity of the field, the reservoir contents, data on environmental conditions, commercial factors or changes to technical requirements. If the Company is restricted or prevented from taking these into account, the project may be uneconomical or a failure.
